Kate grabbed hold of Hayden’s panties. She quickly slid them down her legs. She gently pushed Hayden’s legs apart and dragged her tongue up her dripping wet sex. She focused on the sensitive bundle of nerves as Hayden reached down and interlaced her fingers with Kate’s.

Kate climbed back on top of Hayden, positioning herself so that Hayden’s legs were wrapped around her. Kate kissed Hayden passionately as she caressed the woman’s cheek. She pulled back and gazed into the blonde’s eyes.

“I love you too,” Kate professed, stroking the blonde’s hair back.

Hayden slowly smiled lovingly at the brunette. She was about to say something when Kate suddenly pushed her sex into hers.

Hayden moaned out loudly at the sudden movement. She pushed her head back as Kate thrusted her sex against hers, creating more friction as Kate and Hayden’s nipples rubbed against each other’s.

Kate continued the thrusting motion, interlacing her fingers with Hayden’s fingers and gently pinning them above her against the bed.

Kate could tell Hayden was about to cum, so she stopped her motions to get the woman’s attention.

  “Don’t cum yet,” Kate whispered.

  “Why?” Hayden sighed.

“I want us to cum together,” Kate replied, gazing into green eyes.

  “Okay,” Hayden smiled lovingly.

Kate smiled back as she thrusted into Hayden. Brown eyes stayed locked on green eyes as they both came closer and closer to the edge.

Hayden could sense Kate’s impending climax. She finally let go, allowing the both of them to cry out in pleasure as their orgasm overtook them.

As both women came back down, they breathed heavily and hugged each other closely. Kate kissed Hayden’s cheek, resting her head to the side of her head.

“I love you, Hayden,” Kate breathed into Hayden’s ear.

“I love you too,” Hayden smiled.

  Chapter 19

Hayden and Kate spent practically every moment together after they professed how they felt for one another. Hayden didn’t think it was possible to fall so in love with someone in so little time. That was until she met Kate. Kate changed everything for Hayden. Her outlook on love had completely changed. She used to think she would be fine if she never found love, but now the thought of losing what she had with Kate made her sick to her stomach.

“Are you sure about this?” Kate asked.

“For the hundredth time, yes,” Hayden smiled. “Why are you so nervous anyway? You met my family. Meeting Lauren will be a breeze.”

“I already knew most of your family, Hayden. Lauren’s your best friend, which means I have to make a good impression.”

“Lauren is great and easy to get along with. Just be yourself and you’ll be fine babe.” Hayden knocked on the door to Lauren’s place.

Kate smiled. “I love when you call me babe.”

Hayden blushed as she grinned back at the brunette. “I know.”

Kate leaned in and kissed Hayden just as the door swung open. Lauren smiled at the couple.

“Aww, aren’t you two cute?” Lauren said cheerfully.

“Hey,” Hayden smiled. “Lauren this is Kate. Kate, Lauren.”

“Nice to meet you,” Lauren said, extending her hand to the brunette.

  “You too,” Kate smiled.

Hayden and Kate walked past Lauren and into the house. Kate looked around at the living room and turned back to Lauren.

  “Your house is beautiful!”

“You really think so?” Lauren asked. “Everything is so old. My parents inherited it from my grandparents and let me live here. Everything is exactly the way my grandparents left it.”

“Kate loves history,” Hayden said happily.

Lauren smiled at her friend. She could tell Hayden seemed different. She was never a depressing person, but she wasn’t exactly peppy either. Hayden seemed happy. Really happy.

“Then you’ll definitely love this house,” Lauren said to Kate. “It’s practically ancient. It was built when the town was first founded.”

“Has it always been in your family?” Kate asked.

“Yeah, pretty much every generation of my family has grown up in this house.”

  “That’s so cool.”

“Cool and creepy. Sometimes I feel like I’m being watched by all of my ancestors.”

“Lauren is a bit eccentric,” Hayden commented.

“Well, seeing as she’s best friends with you, I’m not really surprised,” Kate joked.

“Ooh, I like her already,” Lauren smiled.

Dinner was great. Lauren and Kate got along really well together. Lauren could see why Hayden was so smitten with her.

Things couldn’t be more perfect in Hayden’s life. She had her family, her friends, and an amazing girlfriend. There was only one problem. New York.

When Hayden and Kate got back to Kate’s apartment, they both got undressed and slid into the bathtub together. Kate was sitting behind Hayden, her arms wrapped around the blonde in a hug.

Hayden laughed as Kate tickled her from behind.

“I didn’t realize how ticklish you are,” Kate laughed as she continued tickling the blonde’s sides.

“Now that you do can you please stop,” Hayden laughed.

“I don’t know, I’m kind of enjoying watching you squirm.”

  “Kate, please.”

“Alright, fine,” Kate gave in. She stopped tickling the woman and wrapped her arms around her. “You can be such a baby sometimes.”

Hayden feigned a look of hurt as she looked back at the brunette. “And you can be mean sometimes.”

“I warned you about my moods,” Kate shrugged.

Hayden leaned back into Kate’s embrace. She loved being in Kate’s arms. She felt whole whenever she was with Kate. It was like the rest of the world didn’t exist and it was just the two of them.

Kate kissed Hayden’s shoulder softly before resting her head in the crook of Hayden’s neck, breathing in Hayden’s scent. Kate knew there was a possibility that Hayden would be leaving for New York soon. She didn’t want to think about having to spend so much time without her. She wished they could stay like that forever and never leave the apartment.

Hayden gently held Kate’s hands in her own. She didn’t know what she was going to do about New York. It was a great opportunity, but she had so many things to stay in Staunton for. She loved being with her family, friends, and now Kate. She didn’t want to think about leaving everyone behind.

“What are you thinking about?” Kate asked softly.

“What makes you think I’m thinking about something?”

“Because I know you, Hayden,” Kate smiled. “You get this cute look on your face and your eyes get all serious. You don’t have much of a poker face.”

“Aww, you think I’m cute,” Hayden smiled.

“I think you’re adorable, but stop trying to change the subject,” Kate replied. “What is going on in that cute head of yours?”

Hayden hesitated for a moment. She continued playing with Kate’s hands as she sighed. “I don’t want this to end.”

“It doesn’t have to,” Kate replied, kissing the blonde’s shoulder. “We can stay in this bathtub for the rest of our lives.”

  “That sounds nice,” Hayden smiled.

“Is this about New York?” Kate asked knowingly.

“Yeah,” Hayden admitted. “I’m not so sure about taking the job anymore.”

It was always about New York. Hayden was starting to feel like a broken record. She had to just make a decision already.

  “Do you want the job?”

“Part of me does. But the other part wants to stay here, with you.”

“You can’t base this decision on me Hayden. I don’t want to be the reason you don’t take an amazing opportunity.”

“It’s not just you though. You’re a huge factor, but there’s my family and I’ve kind of enjoyed being at the bar again. Working there doesn’t seem so bad any
more. There are just so many reasons to stay and not enough to go.”

“I just want you to be happy. You have to do whatever makes you happy.”

“I thought I just did that,” Hayden smirked at the woman.

Kate shook her head as she smiled back. “You know that’s not what I meant.”

“I’m just kidding,” Hayden replied. “But, you are one of the things in my life that makes me happy. I’ve never been happier before in my whole life. Suddenly, seeing the world just doesn’t seem as enticing if you’re not there with me.”

“But you really want to travel.”

“And I still want to. But, I’d rather share those things with you. Experience things alongside you, rather than alone. It’ll mean more if the woman I love is there with me.”

Kate smiled at Hayden’s words. It was amazing that what started as a hookup had now evolved into something so strong. Hayden was everything she had been searching for.

“I love you, Hayden,” Kate said as she kissed her cheek tenderly.

“I love you too,” Hayden smiled.

Kate tightened her embrace on the blonde, holding her closely. “Whatever happens, we’ll get through it, together.”

“Yeah?” Hayden asked, looking back at the woman excitedly.

Kate couldn’t help but smile at the look of excitement on Hayden’s face. “Yeah.”

Hayden kissed Kate lovingly, but Kate interrupted the moment by tickling Hayden’s sides again.

  “Really?” Hayden laughed.

Hayden would have to give her decision to the firm tomorrow. But, for right now the only thing she cared about was being in Kate’s arms. She just hoped that regardless of what she decided, she would still have Kate by her side.

  Chapter 20

  One week later...

Hayden came downstairs, dragging her final suitcase along with her.

“Honey, you should have asked Gabriel to carry that one,” Julia commented.

“It’s fine Mom,” Hayden said. “I’m more than capable of carrying a suitcase.”

“Yeah, Mom,” Gabe agreed. “Besides, I don’t want to.”

Hayden giggled at her brother’s comment. She was going to miss Gabe the most. She loved her little sister, but Gabe and her had a connection like no other. The siblings always had each other’s back.

David came through the front door, Rachel following close behind.

“The car is all set,” David said. “I took the liberty of changing the oil and filling up the windshield wiper fluid.”

“Dad,” Hayden sighed. “The car just got an oil change. You didn’t have to do that.”

“Hayden, you’re taking that car all the way to New York. There’s no way I’m letting my baby girl drive in an unsafe car.”

“But it’s not unsafe,” Hayden argued.

“Don’t bother sweetheart,” Julia said. “You know him and cars. There’s no arguing with him.”

“I’ll say,” Gabe responded with an eye roll.

“Alright, are you sure you have everything honey?” David asked.

  “Yeah, definitely. I triple checked.”

“Are you kidding?” Gabe asked. “She has more than enough!”

A knock on the front door interrupted the family of five.

Rachel opened the door and smiled as Kate entered their home.

  “All set?” Kate asked Hayden.

  “Yeah,” Hayden smiled.

I can’t believe this is my life now.

“Please tell me you didn’t pack as much as Hayden did?” Gabe asked. “She’s up to three suitcases!”

“Three?” Kate asked incredulously. “We’ll only be gone a week, Hayden.”

“Excuse me; one of the suitcases is empty!” Hayden defended herself. “I need the space to pack my things in New York.”

Hayden had decided to decline the job offer in New York. She was going to be working at the family bar for now until she decided what she really wanted to do with her life. She just had to go back to New York to pack up her things from her apartment. Kate was joining her. She didn’t see a reason to let her girlfriend go alone.

“Are you sure you guys are going to fit everything in the car Hayden?” David asked. “I don’t mind renting a truck and driving it up myself.”

“Dad it’ll be fine,” Hayden said. “I’m selling practically all of my furniture. I didn’t have much to begin with.”

“If worse comes to worse we can always rent a truck when we’re there,” Kate said.

“I’m so glad I have you to chaperone my daughter on this little adventure of yours,” David said to Kate.

Kate smiled at the man and turned to her glaring girlfriend. Her smile quickly faltered at seeing Hayden’s face.

“I spent four years in New York all by myself,” Hayden said. “I don’t need a chaperone.”

“Of course you don’t babe,” Kate said nonchalantly. “Don’t worry David; I’ll keep an eye on her.”

Hayden rolled her eyes but followed with an amused grin.

“Gabriel, can you take this bag out to the car for Hayden?” Julia asked.

“She said she’s got it,” Gabe said incredulously.

Julia glared at the man, causing him to look away sheepishly.

“I’ll just take this out to the car,” Gabe said quietly.

  “Thanks,” Hayden smiled sympathetically.

“I packed you girls some sandwiches for the road so you won’t have to stop right away,” Julia said.

  “Thanks Mom,” Hayden smiled.

“Kate, please make sure she actually eats,” Julia said, handing the bag of sandwiches to her. “Sometimes when Hayden is working on something she completely forgets that she’s a human being that requires food.”

“Does everyone think I’m incapable of taking care of myself?” Hayden asked.

“Not incapable,” Rachel replied. “Just limited.”

Hayden shook her head as she pulled her sister into a hug. “I’ll see you next week.”

  “Have fun,” Rachel replied.

Hayden hugged her parents simultaneously. She smiled at a smiling Kate over their shoulders. She was really looking forward to their trip together.

  “Drive safely,” David said.

  “We will.”

“Call me every hour,” Julia said

  “Mom,” Hayden whined.

“Alright, every hour and a half.”

  “Fine,” Hayden sighed.

Hayden and Kate walked outside just as Gabe was coming in.

Gabe hugged Hayden tightly. “Don’t forget to have fun,” Gabe commented.

  “I won’t,” Hayden smiled. “Promise.”

Gabe pulled back and looked his sister in the eyes. “See you in a week.”

Gabe turned to Kate and pulled the woman into a hug.

“Thanks for going with her,” Gabe whispered.

“I’d go anywhere with her,” Kate replied.

  “Alright, drive safely,” Gabe replied.

“Thanks,” Hayden said as she and Kate got into Hayden’s car.

The two women were going to take turns driving. Hayden was up first.

“Thanks for coming with me,” Hayden smiled at the brunette.

“Do you really think I’d let you go to New York without me?” Kate asked. “Besides, a week is way too long to be without you.”

“I couldn’t agree more,” Hayden said, starting the car.

Three weeks had changed Hayden’s life completely. She had a plan in place that she was set on following. Kate coming along changed everything in the most amazing ways possible. Hayden didn’t want the things she wanted before. She still wanted to travel, but only if Kate would be with her.

The last three weeks had taught Hayden something very important. Life wasn’t meant to be planned. You can’t plan when you fall in love, because love tends to find you when you least expect it.

Love is a risk. But it’s definitely a risk worth taking.
